According to QLD law license plates must not be obscured by any object or part of the vehicle. This includes Towbars, Towballs, bike carriers etc..
A special license plate can be obtained from Qld transport for use on bike carriers when in use.
All loads over 750kg combined (including trailer weight) require the assistance of electric brakes in accordance with the national road regulations.
Some trailers are equipped with a manual override brake but in all other cases electric brakes are required for loads over 750kg.
